Precipice: New Music Video by Cinematographer Tracy Nystrom / by Tracy Nystrom

When the space-time continuum breaks loose, a young boy stands up against the odds to tame it in this visually spectacular short film.

The music is a driving force in the film and I wrote it to convey feelings of that inner call to the unknown, where you break through the excuses you've built up over a lifetime and pursue the things that really matter to you.  At the same time it had to feel upbeat, draw people in, and have messy, personal aspects for people to connect with.  Cory Thoresen did an awesome job on nailing the drums and bringing out a unique sound design while bringing the song together.

The video was shot over the 4th of July, 2013 in Kitsap County at my best friend Cory's house on the water.  I shot this all handheld on a Canon 5D Mark iii with a 50mm f/1.2 lens (wide open) at 640 IOS at 5600k and 1/50th, with a battery handgrip and a neoprene strap.  It was shot to feel engaging, exciting, and visually unique with aspects of fearlessness, subliminally uncomfortableness, and to bring in the viewer to a full-bodied sci-fi(ish) experience. Enjoy!
